Individual HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Score

Every EnergySmartSM Home by Regent has a score that exceeds the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The lower a home’s HERS Index, the more energy efficient it is. An independent third party to insure that air barriers and insulation packages are installed correctly home inspects every EnergySmart.

Improved Thermal Systems

Enhanced insulation techniques help to minimize voids and gaps, and high thermal properties (R-value) add to energy efficiency. Regent’s EnergySmart homes use R-15 wall insulation and R-44 attic insulation.

LP® TechShield® Radiant Barrier Roof Sheathing

LP TechShield Sheathing features a thin, durable layer of aluminum laminated to LP OSB roof sheathing. This creates a highly effective radiant barrier. Because it helps block radiant heat from entering your home, LP TechShield Radiant Barrier Sheathing can reduce your air conditioning bills by up to 17%. That’s built in savings that start immediately and last for years to come. In the summer, the sun turns your attic into an oven. LP TechShield Sheathing can block up to 97% of radiant heat transfer through roof sheathing lowering your attic temperatures by as much as 30º F. That creates cooler rooms below and increases the efficiency of the in-attic air handling system. So you save energy summer after summer. This product has earned the U.S. Government’s Energy Star® certification from the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Low-E 71/38 Windows with Vinyl Frames

With ClimaGuard 71/38 residential window glass, solar heat gain and damaging radiation can be significantly reduced without sacrificing clear views and daylight. ClimaGuard 71/38 blocks up to 50% more unwanted solar energy than standard clear glass, and up to 40% more than even dark tinted glass. This results in lower air conditioning expenses and a more comfortable living environment. ClimaGuard 71/38 residential window glass also blocks nearly twice as much harmful UV rays as clear glass, extending the life of woodwork, carpets and furnishings, while still allowing plenty of natural sunlight to brighten interior spaces.

Tight Construction

Advanced framing techniques are utilized to increase energy-efficiency and effectiveness of insulation.

Passive Attic Ventilation

Soffit vents and adequate roof venting provide proper, even ventilation across the entire attic area, helping to keep the attic cooler.

Right-sized Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC)

“Right-sized” heating and cooling systems and sealed air ducts help equipment work more efficiently.

Minimum 14 SEER Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC)

A higher Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating equates to a more efficient system. EnergySmart homes are equipped with 14 SEER HVAC equipment and use refrigerant with no chloride which is more friendly to the ozone. R-8 insulation is on all ductwork in unconditioned space.

Energy-efficient Lighting

LED bulbs installed in all interior and exterior fixutures. All ceiling fans are Energy Star qualified.

Energy-efficient Appliances

ENERGY STAR® labeled appliances such as refrigerators, dishwasher, ranges, and efficient water heaters help conserve energy.

Engineered Framing

Each home is engineered from foundation, to frame, to energy-efficiency systems.

LP® TopNotch® Sub-Flooring

LP TopNotch Sub-Flooring is made with LP OSB, it’s uniform, flat and rigid, with no core voids or knots. A number of factors make LP TopNotch Sub-flooring an environmentally friendly building material. The manufacturing process uses wood certified under Sustainable Forestry Initiative® standards. The wood comes from small fast growing trees, and the entire log is used. This means less waste and more efficient use of resources. Plus, LP TopNotch Sub-Flooring contains no urea-formaldehyde, and uses only low-emitting, safe resins as a binder.
