How to Have a Perfect Day in Spring Hill

Rippa Villa, Spring Hill, TN

October 23, 2026

Spring Hill has changed quite a bit over the years. What was once a much smaller Tennessee town has grown into a busy community filled with new neighborhoods, restaurants, and shops, but you do not have to look far to find reminders of its history.

That makes it especially fun to explore for a day.

Spend the morning at a historic property tied to the Civil War, wander through an antique mall after lunch, take an afternoon walk through one of the city's largest parks, and finish the evening over dinner. And because you can spend so much of the day right in Spring Hill, you don't need to turn it into an overly planned road trip.

Here is one way to spend a Saturday getting to know the city.

Start the Morning at The Fainting Goat Coffee: First things first: coffee. The Fainting Goat Coffee has become a familiar local stop in Spring Hill, serving coffee, breakfast, and bakery items in a setting where you can actually sit down for a while instead of grabbing a cup and immediately getting back in the car.

Give yourself a slower start. Order breakfast, catch up with a friend, or map out the rest of the day over another cup of coffee.

Spend the Late Morning Exploring Rippa Villa: From coffee, head into one of Spring Hill's most historically significant places.

Rippa Villa dates to the 19th century and is closely connected to the Battle of Spring Hill, fought on Nov. 29, 1864, during the Civil War. Today, the property lets visitors learn about the battle, the Cheairs family, and the enslaved men, women, and children who lived and worked there.

A guided tour is worth taking if you have time. Walking the grounds afterward also gives you a better sense of how much Spring Hill has changed while keeping its historic landscape.

Hunt for Vintage Finds at the Spring Hill Antique Mall: After lunch, head to the Spring Hill Antique Mall and get ready to lose track of time for a while.

Antique malls are at their best when you go in without looking for anything specific. One booth might have vintage furniture and old advertising signs, while the next is filled with dishes, books, artwork, collectibles, or décor.

Slow Down at Fischer Park: Head outside to Fischer Park at Port Royal. The 30-acre city park is one of Spring Hill's largest and includes a walking and multi-use path, playground, splash pad, picnic areas, sports courts, and fields.

Walk the trail for a while. Bring the kids to the playground or splash pad. Find a shady spot and sit with a book. Fischer Park also hosts community events throughout the year, including Spring Hill's annual Hill Fest.

Finish the Day With Dinner: Birdsong Social at the Towhee Club makes a relaxed final stop. The restaurant is open to the public, so you don't need to live in the community or be playing a round of golf to dine there.

If the weather cooperates, sitting outside and taking in the golf-course views is an easy way to wind down after spending most of the day moving around town.

That's really all a good Saturday needs: somewhere you can order dinner, stay for another drink or dessert, and realize you have nowhere else you need to be.
